GRAND CANYON & POOL PARTY

We were in Grand Canyon-Arizona on June 2 and 3,2008. Grand Canyon is one of the Earth's most powerful, inspiring landscapes. Geological process which has been taking place for so many millions of years with erosion forms 277 river miles long, 18 miles wide and a mile deep Canyon. Colorado river is deep in Canyon. By the way we crossed Colorado river for more than 10 times while we were driving in Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. It is such an amazing river.

We arrived to Grand Canyon at 8 PM on June 2. We were planning to camp. Even before we went to a camping site Avi wanted to show us the Canyon. We stopped and walked by the Canyon. Wow !!! Nature has been working hard to shape the land in such a way for millions of years. The shape, the colour, and the view were all fascinating.

Then we headed towards camping ground. Andy got a chance to check his e-mail. Since he is driving most of the time, the best time for him has been either in the morning or at night if Internet is available. Sometimes there is no Internet access in valleys and mountains.

Jana, our x-coworker from South Carolina started chatting with Andy on IM before heading towards camping site. When he started driving, Avi took the computer and continued chatting. Later, Jana started chatting with me. She has been following up this trip since started. What impressed me most was, Jana forwarded our web site to co-workers. She also told me that her co-workers also have been following up and enjoying this trip.

Avi, Kelly, Gabe, Andy and I are going to host a pool party in Sterling on June 14, 2008. We are hosting this party mostly because my trip to Ethiopia is approaching so brings together many people for me to get a chance to say good bye.

The other reason is, it is summer so it is time to grab beer by the pool and have fun. The third reason would be for Avi to tell travel story to the crowd . Avi talks as much as I write and also adds more fun to it.

Jana is also going to come over to Virginia for the pool party. You are also invited if you are living close to Sterling and can make it.

This time I am not going to tell you this and that about Grand Canyon of Arizona. Action speaks more than words. Just recommends you to go and see pictures!

Next, see you in Arch National Parks in Utah.
